I am Barbara. I have photographed love for thirty years — with today’s eyes.

The way I see

I grew up inside a photography studio: my father Bruno opened it in Bracciano in 1960, and photography was the language spoken in our home. From him I learned respect for this craft and for the people who trust us on the days that matter. Since 1990 the studio has been mine to lead, and I have taken it where I wanted it to go: towards photography that is alive, spontaneous, contemporary.

At weddings I don’t look for perfection: I look for truth — and truth is almost always more beautiful. The veil that gets caught and the laughter it sparks. A grandmother drying her eyes, believing no one can see her. The two of you, in a corner, a moment before entering the reception. That is what I am there for.

Every couple I choose to follow receives the same care from our very first coffee together: we build the story before the wedding day even arrives. On the day itself, the one telling it may be me, or one of the photographers I have personally trained in the Cardei method — the same sensibility, the same attention to detail, sometimes taken even further. What never changes is a genuine presence: someone who knows you, not a stranger holding a camera. And it is a feeling I still carry with me, every single time.
